My first swim, today, at the pool of 24 hour fitness in South Sacramento.  The pool, itself, was a bit underwhelming.  It is a 4 lane, 25M lap pool.  The great part is that no one under the age of 59 was using it for most of the time I was in it.  The bad part was that it and the spa and sauna were connected to the men's restroom.  I didn't see any potentials walking around, but the idea of it on my first day definitely got in my head a bit!  Especially the 80 yo asian man that stared at me the entire time...

I was trying to remember the last time I swam laps.  I hate to say it, but I'm certain I wasn't yet a teen.  A few things came back into my head as I swam the lane.  I'd watched a few You Tube videos a month or so back when deciding to go for the Tri training.  It took me a good 30 minutes, but I got the freestyle down!

Breathing is something I need to work on.  I kept swallowing water through my nose... YUCK.

All in all, a good experience.  I'm left with sore shoulders and knees... I googled it and all I can assume is, overuse.  Of course it's overuse.  I'm sure I'll end up with shin splints again, too, as I start running regularly.  Although my mind is determined, there's no fooling the body.

I must push through any pain.

EXCITED!

9AM tomorrow with a trainer...  hello, weights.  I've missed you!
